Dear Members of the CGCI Board of Directors,

Here is the CALL to the California Garden Clubs, Inc. Fall Board Meeting “Go for the Gold” at the Gold Miners Inn in Grass Valley. We needed to get the CALL to you before the end of June.  To take advantage of the best deal, you need to postmark your registration by July 10. Please make your room reservations directly with the hotel, and early registration is encouraged. Golden Foothills District has worked hard to ensure a successful meeting, and I hope you are planning to attend. There are no fancy dress activities, so wear comfortable attire.

The Package Plan will again be your most cost-efficient option for registration and is also intended to encourage you to attend all events. Those who wish to pick and choose their meals are welcome to do so.  But you may not want to miss these meals. The programs which the District has lined up for you are fantastic! Two of the speakers are on Monday evening, and these events are open to everyone as well as those taking the Tri-Refresher for credit. We have a surprise for you at the Wednesday lunch which we hope you will find fun and productive. Garden club members are welcome to attend most of the meetings. Personal invitations have been sent to the club presidents of the surrounding districts.

We continue our Parliamentary Workshop Series on Monday morning. Come for the information and take the optional basic parliamentary test (see F/Y/I for more information). On Tuesday morning, the District has planned an informative and fun tour of several gardens with lunch at the Lake Wildwood Country Club with a very special speaker. Then we’ll get down to business. Following the board meeting, the District is offering an interesting post board meeting tour to The Empire Mine which will include lunch and a docent-led tour of the mine, house and gardens.

If you, or anyone you know, are planning to go on the CGCI fundraiser Southern Comfort Tour to Charleston and Savannah, please make your $100 refundable deposits with Bob Gordon.

Thank you for your support of the goals and objectives of California Garden Clubs, Inc.  Without members like you, the state organization would not be the strong integral branch of National Garden Clubs, Inc. that it is.  See you in Grass Valley!

Best wishes for a happy and successful year

of gardening and garden-clubbing!

Dig in and enjoy,

Robin
